Blankets over they Sky - October 17th, Alaska Aurora Webcam
As has become the case this month, a small bit of Aurora activity was hidden behind the clouds but with the nearly full Moon the night scenes are still quite enjoyable.

Big Dipper - October 16th, Alaska Aurora Webcam
While we didn't see Aurora tonight, the camera did give a nice show of Clouds moving quickly across the sky. Little breaks in the action gave glimpses of the stars.

A Bit 'o Green - October 14th, Alaska Aurora Webcam
We didn't get much of a show, but we did get enough to share our new images sizes, newest camera and the new time stamp. All improvements we hope you'll enjoy! The site has been tweaked as well to be more mobile friendly, especially for tablets.
Edit - After posting this image the clouds gave way once more and we got a rather nice show for about an hour.aurorawebcamnorthern lightscameracamborealisfairbanksalaskasirius sled dogsmurphy dometourssightseeingnatureadventure
Clouded Over - October 13th, Alaska Aurora Webcam
I grabbed this image from the cam just as twilight began to fade. The sky was looking promising but unfortunately, the cloud cover soon took over and never relinquished the sky. The rest of the night the camera was black with exception of the little glowing light on Murphy Dome

A nice weekend show - October 12th, Alaska Aurora Webcam
We got a really nice surprise show this morning. The indications looked pretty mellow but it did flare up and has been pretty steady since around 1AM. At the time of this posting, it's 3:30AM and the lights are still going steady.

Window in the Clouds - October 11th, Alaska Aurora Webcam
Despite having been covered over with clouds most the the evening, the skies gave way early this morning around 2:45AM to a beautiful dance by Lady Aurora.
Many thanks to Matt Hodges of Pioneer Wells for retiring his oldgirlfriendcamera to this project.aurorawebcamnorthern lightscameracamborealisfairbanksalaskasirius sled dogsmurphy dometourssightseeingnatureadventure
Snowy Evening October 10th, Alaska Aurora Webcam
Despite the still good Aurora conditions as the recent CME began to subside tonight, we didn't get to see them because we were still getting our first bit of ground insulation of the season up on Murphy Dome. Last I heard from the Sirius Sled Dog crew was 2 inches and counting.

SNOW! October 9th, 2013 around 1:00pm, Alaska Aurora Webcam
While this isn't the first dusting of snow we've had this season, it is the first since the camera has been up. Last night's clouds not only block the view of the show, but they also left a little piece of themselves behind. ;-)

October 9th, Alaska Aurora Webcam
Lady Aurora danced beautifully all over the Northern Hemisphere last night but unfortunately, Mother Nature here on Earth would not pull back the curtain and let us see the show in Fairbanks.
