Dark and Snowy - Nov 10th, Alaska Aurora Cam
Last night we got some much need ground insulation as some parts of the area are reporting up to 10" of new snow over the past 24 hours. And more is still coming down. While hat makes seeing Northern Lights on the camera impossible, it does make for peace of mind for all of us needing the extra insulation to prevent pipes freezing once the sub-zero temps kick in. Plus, imagine the beautiful winter landscapes since we do get our Aurora back.
Even though we can't see it, the lights have been quite active with displays being seen as far south as Wyoming two nights ago. The Sun just unleashed a major X1 flare directly towards us last. hint and we should begin seeing the impact of that tomorrow night in the form of increased Aurora activity as well.
